at osd healthcare, we are a pioneering a new approach to private healthcare. our flagship outpatient, dental, physio and diagnostic clinic features state-of-the-art equipment and an exceptional, quality environment for patients and staff. currently under construction and due for completion in june 2020 is a new build which will include 2 laminar flow theatres and a four bed recovery bay along with nine day case beds. the plan is to offer a wide range of day case procedures.

to provide a high standard of radiography service within the mri/ct department, performing advanced examinations without supervision and sharing skills and knowledge with the rest of the cross-sectional team.
to undertake general radiography duties when not working in the cross-sectional department. specific responsibilities
communicate effectively with all patients/carers ensuring they are comfortable and supported at all times and aware of how the examinations will be carried out.
assess patient understanding of proposed examinations, and where appropriate gain valid informed consent within the required legal framework with patients that lack capacity to consent to examination.
give relevant advice to patient/carer, on post-examination procedures liaising as appropriate with other staff groups who are associated with the care of the patient.
manage clinical risk within own specialised area.
be responsible for maintaining accurate and comprehensive patient records in line with hcpc standards of proficiency - radiographers (july 2003) and working in accordance with the mhra guidelines march 2015, version 4.2 and company policy.
carry out cross sectional examinations (mri/ct) in accordance with company protocols and standards.
as required, carry out general radiology examinations in accordance with osd healthcare company protocols and standards, within scope of practice and competence.
ensure practice and that of staff under your supervision is in keeping with the health care professional council (hcpc) publications on standards of conduct from the college of radiographers (2002) and meet the required professional, national and local standards of radiography practice.
be responsible for maintaining own competency to practice through cpd activities and maintain a portfolio which reflects personal development (lifelong learning).
participate in staff appraisal scheme as an appraisee and be responsible for complying with agreed personal development programme, to meet set objectives and competencies.
be an active member of any in-service training programme by attendance at and participation in, in-service training programmes, tutorials, individual training sessions and external courses
undertake as directed, the collection of data for use in service audit.
promote and maintain a high-quality service, which demonstrates a sound knowledge of clinical governance and risk management.
provide support, guidance and training to more junior staff, contributing to the ongoing monitoring of their performance.
comply with and actively promote all company and national policies relating to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults
supervise junior radiographers and radiography assistants whilst on duty including assisting with induction of new staff and participating in staff training.
ensure safe practice under the health and safety at work legislation and always follow safety procedures.
assist with any relevant statistical information as required to allow for the monitoring of the service
perform any other duties as may be requested by more senior radiography staff
have a flexible approach to work so that cover for absences and leave of other members of the team can be facilitated as necessary
demonstrate a positive commitment to osdh healthcare values in all aspects of work
to undertake any other relevant duties as required in the post
